Techcross wins large ballast contract with PIL

Techcross enters into a contract with the largest container carrier in Singapore for 28 systems; the company expects more orders, with container carriers as leading clients.

Korean ballast system manufacturer Techcross’ Singapore Office has entered into a contract with Singapore’s Pacific International Lines (PIL), the largest ship owner in Southeast Asia, which has ordered Techcross ballast water management systems for 28 container ships in its fleet.

Even under the difficult conditions caused by the COVID-19 shutdowns, Techcross Singapore Office has been continuing the coordination with PIL, leading to the success of this contract. The agreement entails sequential deliveries till 2024. PIL, with its fleet of around 100 vessels, remains open to future possible opportunities to install Techcross ballast water management systems on other existing vessels in its fleet, and may consider installing on potential new vessels.

In 2012, Techcross  delivered systems for 20 container ships owned by APL (currently acquired by CMA CGM France). Winning orders from large container carriers in Singapore, a trading port city with high container throughput, Techcross has proven its ability to effectively provide products and services. Moreover, the company is fortifying follow-on service and product supply services, making it the main sales strategy in a city with many ship management companies.

Meanwhile, Techcross Singapore Office relocated to a larger office in Jurong East to boost its sales operation in April 2020. Based on more specialists and staunch cooperation with local partners, the office is becoming the hub in the Southeast Asia.
