Details of an agreement between Norwegian state oil and gas organisation Equinor, and Siemens Energy have been announced. Under the agreement, the two will work to ensure high uptime, avoid production stoppages, achieve lower costs, and adopt greener solutions. The agreement applies to both existing fields where Siemens Energy is a supplier, as well as possible new projects.

Security and automation systems are the very heart of the platforms and are important for ensuring sustainable operations on the Norwegian and international continental shelf. The agreement covers operational support for daily operating systems and ensures continuous maintenance, modifications and upgrades. New digital solutions and cyber security will also be an important part of the systems in the years to come.

“The oil and gas industry is changing, and it will be important to adopt new solutions. We are proud to be allowed to participate in this development together with Equinor for many years to come”, said Bjørn Einar Brath, head of Siemens Energy Offshore.
