Engine room fire causes oil terminal evacuation

An engine room fire on the tanker Dubai Harmony caused an evacuation of non-emergency personnel at Norwegian oil major Equinor’s Sture terminal in Øygarden.

There were 102 people at the Sture terminal when the incident occurred. Personnel who did not have emergency tasks have been evacuated from the terminal as a precautionary measure, 22 people with emergency preparedness duties remained on the scene.

The fire on Dubai Harmony moored has now been extinguished.

Production at the Sture terminal, which receives oil from Oseberg, Grane, Edvard Grieg and Svalin, was not affected by the incident.
