DNV GL to shine spotlight on shipping’s big issues during Nor-Shipping

Classification society DNV GL is to provide insights into a number of problem areas and hot topics with a series of 30-minute seminars to be held over two days at Nor-Shipping in June.

The seminars will take place on the DNV GL stand (D 02-14) on Wednesday, 5 June and Thursday, 6 June. During the 30-minute seminars, experts from DNV GL will address issues including a regulatory update, cyber security, 3D printing and batteries.


The same programme will be used for both days kicking off with a regulatory update at 11:00 by Eirik Nyhus, DNV GL, Director, Environment followed at 12:00 by cyber security delivered by Elisabet Haugsbø, Senior Engineer, Cyber Security. At 13:00, Fenna van de Merwe, Principal Consultant, Safety, Risk, Reliability will discuss the organisation’s new Human, Organization and Technology: “HOT” approach to safety.

3D printing in the maritime industry comes under the spotlight at 13:00 when Ramesh Babu Govindaraj, Principal Specialist, AM/3D printing will explore the potential of this new technology after which Henrik Helgesen, Senior Environmental Consultant, explains the promising future for batteries in shipping.
